8 Festive Reasons to Enjoy the Holiday Season at The Litchfield Inn

Experienced travelers know that Pawleys Island is a great place to get away from the everyday and enjoy stunning coastal scenery, temperate weather, ocean air and family-friendly fun — no matter what time of year it may be. But for the typical vacationer, beach-centered destinations may not be the first to come to mind when it comes to planning holiday-season escapes.

With a long list of holiday-themed events adding to its late-in-the-year allure, though, this beachy area gives vacation planners plenty of reasons to put it into consideration as a holiday destination. When making your plans for an end-of-year getaway, consider these festive event highlights set for the 2022 holiday season in the area:

Pawleys Island Holiday Market, Nov. 20, 11 a.m.–4 p.m

Litchfield Market Village — More than 60 different vendors will be selling seasonal offerings such as decorations, ornaments, wreaths and gifts at this event held at Litchfield Market Village. A selection of food vendors will also be on site, and children’s activities such as a bounce house and pictures with Santa will further add to the appeal.

Nights of a Thousand Candles, Nov. 26 – Jan. 1

Brookgreen Gardens — The renowned sculpture gardens/botanical gardens in Murrells Inlet will take on the warm glow of 2,700 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights each evening during this event called the “Best Christmas Lights in South Carolina” by Travel+Leisure Magazine. Guests are invited to walk the awe-inspiring paths with a warm cup of cider as they listen to holiday music played by different guest musical acts each night.
