Brewhouse Guide to the Litchfield Area

What’s cooking in the brewery scene?

These days, plenty. What’s better than sipping a delicious freshly brewed beer on a hot summer day? We have a few favorite spots to hit when the temperature starts to climb.

Each brings a unique flavor to the brewery experience.

Fun Facts About Beer

We’ll assume you’re of legal drinking age to be reading this …

  1. Been brewing long?

The earliest proof of beer brewing comes from 3500-2900 B.C. That’s the same era cities were forming, so it makes sense. Folks needed a beer after moving all their stuff in.

  1. It was illegal until 1989

In Iceland, that is. The Land of Fire and Ice was Europe’s first nation to ban alcohol in 1915. And they legalized other forms of alcohol in 1922. Beer took so long because of the rift the tiny country was having with Denmark.

  1. Logos are cool

You might have a collection of pilsners and T-shirts from your favorite breweries. Brewers use rad logos and label with professional designs that beam with artistry.
